1•安全上:美國防部長卡特博士在2015年11月7日馬習會當天，公開聲稱"We are also changing fundamentally our operational plans and approaches to deter aggression, fulfill our statutory obligations to Taiwan, defend allies, and prepare for a wider range of contingencies in the region than we have traditionally," he said.“我們也正在根本地改變我們阻止侵略、履行我們對台灣的法定義務、保衛各盟邦、以及為我們傳統上在此地區未曾遭遇過範圍較廣泛的突發事件做準備等之作戰計劃及方法，”他表示。

2•對外關係上:美國總統於 2016/3/18簽署通過「協助台灣取得國際刑警組織觀察員」成為美國的法律其內容如下：
S.2426 - A bill to direct the Secretary of State to develop a strategy to obtain observer status for Taiwan in the International Criminal Police Organization, and for other purposes.指示國務卿研擬策略，使台灣取得國際刑警組織觀察會員之身份,及其他目的之法案。https://www.congress.gov/bill/114th-congress/senate-bill/2426/related-bills
